Janitor

Fresh Market Foods is a well-established store committed to providing a clean and safe environment for our customers and employees. We are currently seeking a dedicated Janitor to join our team. As a Janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within our facilities. This is an important role in ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our employees and visitors.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Independently clean main areas of the store nightly

• Utilize Viper floor machine and other equipment for floor cleaning.

• Clean upstairs offices, locker rooms, and lunchroom; empty garbage bins

• Clean and disinfect washrooms

• Sweep and mop upstairs area, including lunchroom, change rooms, and stairs

• Wash entrance windows and maintain cleanliness of entrance lobby

• Change garbage bins throughout the store

• Restock supplies and monitor levels of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and tools

• Restock wipes, sanitizer stations, as well as soaps and toiletries in the washrooms

• Ensure all custodian supply areas are organized and tidy

• Perform other nightly duties as assigned.

  
  
  
  

  Skills and Qualifications:

• Independent, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).

• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.

• Willing to work night shift.

• A good understanding and following of health and safety regulations.

• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Previous experience is an asset however training will be provided.
